Merry Christmas Everyone (and a secret)

I haven't blogged in over 2 months, but that is because I have been soooo busy. We had end of year school activities, report card writing, Charlotte's ballet concert (and million rehearsals leading up to it), TJ's 2nd round of botox....

Anyway, it is Christmas Eve and I have a huge secret!! I can't say anything just yet, but it is so exciting for the digiscrap community. I will be back after Chrismtas with more.

Well Spring is definitely with us in Australia...although, today's weather felt more like summer- with a storm to add to it this evening! I am officially on 2 week break from school (spring vac) and am sooo looking forward to it :)

My baby boy is THREE

Well he was three on the 19th of May, but we celebrated today with his pirate party. What a little bundle of joy my TJ is. All the parents who came (with the invited kindy friends of course), all told me how much they love TJ, how he is always smiling and hugging them when they drop their child off at daycare :)

Sooo...we had a Pirate Party today. Only 19 children here!!!! Amazing, the RSVP was for Thursday and we only had 4 RSVP by then. Ah well, he had an awesome party, we are all exhausted, but in true scrapping style, I managed a few pages.

Here is the little man (all jaundiced, before hitting the lights at the hospital) at 3 days old. I have used the new kit "Sent From Above" by Carolyn Kite (available NOW at Scrap-n-tag -see below for preview and link to the kit!)

And this is the little man today! Just over 3 years later! :) This is the title page for his pirate party pages which I am slowly doing. I used Beckie Wallace's Pirate's Booty for this. I love love love this kit!! And while this isn't a page...this is my little family all pirated up before his party :)

New Layout and a little about TJ

I was debating whether to go into this on my blog, but I thought I may as well. Last Friday, my little boy went to hospital to have his first botox injections in his calf (and possibly his thumb). He has a mild form of cerebral palsy (spasticity) where his left side of his body -arm and leg (muscles)are really tight. He went for botox in his calf muscle (4 injections) and is a part of a "Thumbs Up " study, where they are injecting half the kids in the study with botox in the thumb muscles and the other half with a placebo (saline). Regardless of the type of injection in the thumb, all the children get the same OT and physio and home p
rogram afterwards. When the study is finished, we will find out whether he had botox or not.

Anyway, Friday was a pretty hard day. Loj (hubby) couldn't be with us as he had some faculty retreat day for work, but luckily my parents came along. TJ had heaps of appointments all morning before the injections (starting at 830am) and had to fast from 7am. He then had to wait up in day surgery for 3 hours!! I swear he was an angel!! We finally were called down to theatre at 215pm. I went down with him and they suited me up to go in while he went under the general anaesthetic. I have been there once before when he was first diagnosed with CP and needed an MRI to confirm it... it broke my heart then and it did again. There is nothing worse than watching your child fight the gas and try to rip the mask off and then go all limp :( :(:( They shooed me out of the room then and I cried all the way back up to the ward.

He wasn't under that long and was back up in cuddle mode in the ard within 30 minutes. His OT then put a cast on his arm and hand to push his thum in the outward position. He was just an awesome little man. He had the cast removed today (Thursday), but his physio looked at his leg/ankle while walking and diecided to put a cast on his leg and ankle today (he wears that for 7-10 days). Poor little man is turning 3 on Monday and will have it on!!

Anyway, the point of this post is that the following layout was done for a scraplift challenge at Digital Candy, but is of the two of us before he went to theatre.

Kit used is Harmony by Baubles-n-Scraps.

Below is a 2 page spread of the day. I used it for a template challenge at Digital Candy, using a template by Chrissy W and "What Dreams May Come" by Flergs.

Happy Mother's Day!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all Mums!!! I have had a lovely morning. Weas given my pressies from my two angels (a voucher for an hour's massage and Kylie Minogue's new perfume!!!) and was given a lovely breakfast. Then the kids toddled into my mum (who has been visiting for a few days) and gave her some pressies too. One of which was a scrap album I was compiling using layouts of her and the kiddos!!

Everyday Miracles

When my little man was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 8 months old, we had no idea what his future would hold. He started walking a month before his second birthday and now, a month before his third birthday he is running, jumping and starting to climb. I am sure his angels (my husband's parents) are with him every step of his way, helping him as he charges through life. What is taken for granted with a lot of children, we cherish and savour.

So here is my layout about the Everyday Miracles. I used Carolyn Kite's My Sunshine kit to help complete and made the alpha myself :) Not necessarily my prettiest or best layout, but sometimes it isn't about the arty farty- it is about the event.

My First Freebie- ANZAC DAY

Well here it is, my first freebie. I made this for an ANZAC DAY layout (traditions challenge at Digital Candy), using Carolyn Kite's Countryside kit.

An Australian tradition that we commemorate yearly on 25 April is ANZAC DAY. (ANZAC standing for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps). We commemorate this day as it is the day our troops landed at Galipoli Cove in Turkey in WW1. On this day, we hold Dawn Sevices (as this is when the troops landed) and hold ANZAC Day marches.

The journaling reads
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

This is The Ode which is read at the ANZAC Day services. It is part of a poem "For The Fallen" written by an English poet Laurence Binyon in 1914.

So...who am I CTing for?

I thought I would come and post about my designers. Who are they?

My first designer, who is currently retired (and I am hoping wiht come back when her computer decides it will play nicely was Theresa Borntreger. I was so excited to be accepted into her CT. I had a ball working with her and it broke my heart when she decided to take a break.

Then I was honoured to be invited into ScrapShana's CT. We became really close really fast and found out that we had a lot in common. I would like to say Shana is just having a rest from selling her amazing things at the moment. BUT...as she has such a beautiful heart, she has great freebies on her blog!! Go check it out!

While I was chatting about some dastedly deeds on Hello with Beckie (BeckieWallace Designs), she asked me to be a guest CT for her. I was floored. I have admired Beckie's kits for ages and owned quite a few too. I was excited to jump in with some mates from my other CTs :) Beckie asked me last week to be permanent on her team :) YAY!!

While making my new digihome at Digital Candy, I started nosing around blogs from the blinkies. I emailed Amie a name for a kit she had (a competition on her blog) and we started emailing. She then asked me to be a part of her CT. Ummmm, let me think about that one...YES YES YES. I love my new home and Amie (Baubles n Scraps) is now an exclusive designer there :)

During the time when my first two designers took a break, I thought I would apply to some CT Calls at DST.

I got my first acceptance a few days ago by Nicole. She is a new designer with some lovely kits already out. Check her out at Green Elephant Designs!

And the final CT I was accepted into was a total shock. Carolyn Kite is an Aussie designer with her own store/site. It was actually Carolyn who told me to get my butt in gear and start a blog. So we can all blame her! LOL You can find her at Scrap N Tag!!!

Sooooo as you can see I am going to be busy, but feel so lucky to be apart of each team. I will post some layouts here too when I get around to it LOL

My first post on my first ever scrapping blog (I have had a weight loss one before though!!).
